The Lion & The Lamb

Updated: Aug 29, 2021

Have you ever read C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia? If so, you'll know the story of Aslan, the King of Beasts, the son of the Emperor-Over-the-Sea, and the King above all High Kings in Narnia. Aslan is as impressive as they come to a king. Depicted in the movies that follow, his mane so luscious presents the grandeur of the King of the jungle.

Aslan's paws appear so big that they could crush the head of a Bear with just a little effort and swing. Aslan was indeed the King above all High Kings. So when the enemy, the witch, presents itself in one of the epic tails of this great series, The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe, and challenges Aslan, you would've expected this great Emperor-Over-the-Sea to cut her head off. Below is the cliff note version of the story.

The Sons of Adam had stumbled into the Narnia via the wardrobe. Each one of them with a unique characteristic that we could find within ourselves. The youngest was Lucy, The Valiant, known for her inquisitive nature; she discovered Narnia. The eldest was Peter, The Magnificient, known for settling siblings' quarrels and leading the charge against the white witch. The second eldest was Susan, The Gentle, known for her care for Aslan when he was slain (similar to the Mary's in the Bible). And the third eldest was Edmund, The Just, known for being a liar and betraying his siblings. It is, however, interesting that Edmund was justified not by his work. The witch was after Edmund, one of the Sons of Adam, for treason. And according to the law of the land, the white witch had the right to draw blood. Aslan, the King of Beasts, surrendered in Edmund's stead to atone for Edmund's sins. Edmund accepted Aslan's salvation and was freed of his wrongdoing. Now, that is certainly not the character of a Beast, but that of a Worthy Lamb.

Revelations chapter 5, verses 8 through 14, speaks of The Worthy Lamb. Jesus Christ is that Lamb. Christ, Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God (Philippians 2:6), surrendered to death that you may be free from your sin. The Prince of Peace, The Bright and Morning Star, The Lion of The Tribe of Judah was ridiculed, mocked, imprisoned, and killed like a criminal so that you may have life (here on earth and in eternity) and that you may have it more abundantly. Like Aslan, Christ was slain.

Now, we know that the victory, in the end, is ours. Similarly, in The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe, Aslan resurrected. Unknown to the witch, there was a stipulation in the law that if a righteous fellow willingly takes the place of the guilty, the resurrection was inevitable. So when Aslan came back to life, he charged forward with Peter, The Magnificent, and the other High Kings to defeat the enemy, the white witch.

The worthy Lamb is that who can open the scroll and liberate us all. Though He is The Lion of The Tribe of Judah, He is equally The Worthy Lamb that was slain for you and I's sake. Have you accepted Him as your personal Lord and Savior? If not, He is ready to save you from yourself; all you have to do is receive his salvation like Edmund took Aslan's.

If you would like to accept Jesus as your Personal Lord and Savior, say this simple prayer: Jesus, I know I am a sinner and that you died for my sins. I surrender myself to you now; I accept you as my personal Lord and Savior. Come into my heart, and please send The Holy Spirit to guide me on this journey of life. Thank you for your saving grace upon me. If you said the prayer above with full intentions of accepting Jesus into your heart, congratulations, you are now under God's protection. Your journey in life will start to have meaning in ways you've never experienced before; brace yourself for the ride; it's a fun one. I ask that you please follow up with a Bible-believing church (in person or online). You're also welcome to email me at Lana@LanaBamiro.com to discuss this experience further.

Best wishes,

L.B.
