Refocused: When God Redirects the Assignment

Have you ever started a project, set a plan, or chased a goal that felt solid, only to watch it get unexpectedly rerouted? Not shut down completely, just… redirected.
That’s been the rhythm lately.
Sometimes, it’s not failure that knocks on your door. It’s refinement. And it’s not always the enemy who closes the door, it’s God realigning your aim.

We’re all taught to press forward. Keep grinding. Stick to the plan. But what if the plan needs to shift? What if the purpose hasn’t changed, but the path has?
Proverbs 19:21 says, “Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
That verse is more than a comfort, it's a reality check. You can have a solid plan, but if your eyes are on the plan more than the purpose, you’ll miss what God is really doing. And make no mistake, He is doing something.
Sometimes God pauses the momentum to purify the motive.
Sometimes He removes the noise so we can hear His whisper again.
Sometimes He redirects, not to frustrate, but to focus.
This season has reminded me that focus isn’t just about productivity. It’s about clarity. When distractions fall away and deadlines dissolve, what’s left? What matters most?
God doesn’t just want movement. He wants alignment.
So here’s the challenge: Don’t be discouraged by what didn’t happen. Instead, ask, “What is God trying to show me right now?” That question alone can shift your whole outlook.
This isn’t about quitting. It’s about recalibrating. It's about submitting your will to His wisdom and trading momentum for mission.
Stay steady.
Stay faithful.
Refocus, and move in purpose.
Best wishes,
L.B.
