Moments in Time

A couple of nights ago, I was experiencing a certain level of peace in understanding that time could also be a barrier to what’s truly important to me. I don’t mean time in the sense of delay and not having enough of it. But I mean time in setting deadlines, milestones, and measures. Not everything can be measured in time; some things need to be considered in moments.

Like the moments we steal with our loved ones in between our time-scheduled busy lives. Or the moments it takes to make a memory full and savory beyond a fleeting thought.
There’s a beautiful song from the soundtrack of Queen and Slim by Tiana Major9 called “Collide.” A line in that song talks about “riding slow because you know the world is moving too fast.” In this season in my life, riding slow and enjoying the moment is vital.
Not every task needs a deadline.
Not every experience can be time-bound.
But many stolen moments should be relished for a long time.
And the only way to do that is to be in the moment, free from the constraints of time.
Best wishes,
L.B.
