Growing Through Service — A Father’s Day Reflection

Today is Father’s Day—a day to honor the men who lead, love, protect, and provide. Whether you're a biological father, a spiritual father, or a mentor to someone younger than you, your presence carries weight. And your service? It shapes generations.

This Father’s Day, I want to challenge us with a different lens: Service isn’t something you add to your life—it’s the soil you grow in.

  1. Jesus Served First - "The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." (Matthew 20:28). If the Savior served, so should we. As fathers and leaders, we don't serve out of weakness—we serve from strength. Service is kingdom leadership.

  2. Kids Don’t Remember Titles—They Remember Time - They don’t care how many calls you had or how impressive your LinkedIn looks. They remember who showed up. Who played catch. Who listened. Service looks like presence.

  3. Legacy Isn’t What You Leave Behind—It’s What You Live Out - Want to leave a legacy? Serve with consistency. Open doors. Pray over meals. Pick them up from school. Teach them how to navigate life with faith and integrity. That’s generational impact.

  4. Fathers Multiply More Than Money - Don’t just build wealth—build wisdom. Build spiritual muscle. Build emotional safety. Our children grow when we give them more than things—we give them ourselves.

  5. Let This Be the Year You Serve More Intentionally - This Father’s Day, let’s recommit—not to perfection, but to purpose. Let’s lead through humility. Let’s serve with joy. Let’s grow deeper by giving more.

Today, I honor every man who’s choosing service over self.

You are seen. You are needed. And the seeds you plant today through your service will grow into trees your children—and their children—will rest under.

Happy Father’s Day. Keep growing. Keep serving. Keep showing up.

Best wishes,

L.B.
