Change Your Thoughts

Craig Groeschels new book on winning the war in your mind is fire. Go get it. Here are just a couple of nuggets I’ve gleaned from it.

Trying to change your behavior without changing your mind is futile. Both The Word of God and science have shared extensively on the power of thoughts and the mind. The mind is the root of all actions taken. An analogy on trying to kill a tree by breaking a single branch describes our attempts to stop watching pornography or seize verbal abuse without addressing its root cause (I add sinfully nature of man). Sin is built on the lie of the devil; it is following instructions that are contrary to God’s best for you because you believed the lie that the temporary pleasure of pornography or the submissive outcome of abuse is what’s best for you. God has better for you.
Telling yourself time and time again that this is the last time obviously hasn’t worked. Addressing this will require changing your thoughts; replacing the lie with God’s truth. The Truth is the undiluted Word of God. Psalm 119:11 says thy word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:105 says your word is a light unto my feet and a lamp unto my path. Let God’s word guide you out of the darkness and into His marvelous light.
Best wishes,
L.B.
