I bet you not too many people believe that there are leaders who are true introverts. I guess the first question to ask would be who is an introvert? Susan Cain in this 20-minute #TedTalk discusses being an #introvert and the need for our communities to encourage introvert thinkers.
An introvert isn't simply shy, but someone whose default mode is to spend more alone time than public time. An introvert works best in a secluded environment, could actually enjoy the occasional social interactions, but primarily loves his/her "me" time.
An introvert leader, therefore, spends more time planning, preparing a thoughtful message and a promising action plan. He/She spends less time engaging with others, so when he/she does engage, the outcome is effective, efficient and excellent communication. Welcome the introvert leader within you or around you and maximize their abilities.
